Trump Elevates Dan Scavino to Oversee White House Staffing Overhaul

What to know

  • Dan Scavino has been named director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office, overseeing hiring across the administration.
  • He replaces Sergio Gor, whom President Trump is nominating to be ambassador to India.
  • Scavino will review current staff and oversee personnel changes as the office transitions to new leadership, according to a source familiar with the hire.

Dan Scavino, one of President Trump’s longest-serving advisers, is taking over the White House Presidential Personnel Office, the central hub for recruiting and vetting appointees across the administration. The move puts a trusted insider in charge of staffing as the White House continues to shape its team.

Scavino succeeds Sergio Gor, whom President Trump is nominating to be ambassador to India. The transition elevates a figure who has worked closely with Trump since 2015 and has remained a fixture through multiple campaigns and governing phases.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told Axios: “Dan Scavino is one of President Trump’s most trusted and longest serving advisers. There is nobody better to ensure the the President’s administration is staffed with the most qualified, competent, and America First-driven workers.” She added, “There is much still to be done and Dan’s leadership will ensure the highest quality, most dedicated workforce ever.”

Scavino’s ties to Trump date back to the early 2000s, when he ran one of Trump’s golf clubs. He served as director of social media during Trump’s first campaign and in the first Trump White House, including running Trump’s Twitter account. He remained in Trump’s orbit after Jan. 6, 2021, worked on the 2024 campaign, and has been a White House deputy chief of staff in the current administration.

A source familiar with the hire said Scavino will scrutinize the current staff and manage personnel changes as the office transitions to new leadership and structure. The appointment signals a streamlined approach to staffing with an emphasis on loyalty, competence, and continuity.

  2. That sounds great, but please tell President Trump not to praise Dustin Burrows here in Texas. He is apiece of trash and letting the democrats run the Texas House. The only positive thing he has done is let the redistricting plan go through. He let’s dems push dei crap, he’s letting the pass regs to allow increasing our property taxes etc. He is not a republican! He claims it but he is not. I understand President Trump was excited to get the redistricting passed but he does not merit any praise. President Trump merits higg praise but Burrows and his rinos do not.
    Thank you.
